Stillness of morning. Surroundings are whisper quiet as the day gradually comes to life. I listen to the sound of Canadian geese, storks and ducks as they come in for a landing, their webbed feet hitting the surface of the water. I see the ripple it creates on the lake’s surface. Its circumference slowly grows until it fades into the stillness of the water.

Peering into the distance I sometimes witness clouds and sun jostling for position in the sky. Their reflections enter my lens, and if my timing is right I can capture it in a creative way.

I set my camera up from a look out point over-looking Lake Superior and the Thunder Bay Marina. And I prepare, adjusting various settings and the composition as I go. Breathing in the morning air. It’s peaceful.
