Shores of Lake Superior are frozen, covered with snow. The Thunder Bay Main Lighthouse stands alone.
Thunder Bay Main Lighthouse, built in 1937, stands as a beacon on the breakwater of Thunder Bay in Ontario’s Superior Country. This striking two-story structure, painted white with bold red accents, rises to a height of 43 feet (13 meters), with its lantern room guiding vessels safely into Thunder Bay Harbor. Though the breakwater is not connected to the mainland and remains inaccessible to the public, the lighthouse can be admired from the water by boat or viewed from a distance along the Thunder Bay Waterfront.
